Stop park vandalism before it happens!

It is difficult to fathom that in this current culture, with all the instruction on climate change, environmental pollution, and recycling, there is a problem of park vandalism,  graffiti, and littering in public parks.  But it exists.

According to the New York Post, three natural American wonders were ruined by vandals.  “What’s happened to our park in the last 34 days is irreparable for the next 200 to 300 years,” former park superintendent Curt Sauer told the outlet.”

Who would mar these amazing parks?

And yet,  today more and more of our National Parks are getting vandalized.  If our culture really cares about the environment, cares enough to leave a better world for the next generation, we need to do more than remove the graffiti and repair the vandalism after it happens.

Washing the graffiti releases chemicals into the environment which affects the air we breathe and the water we drink.  The toxins enter and contaminate the in-ground water.   Our civilization needs to improve this.

As a generation that cares about our parks,  what can we do?

Create a Proactive Park Vandalism Program.

Traditional surveillance is not proactive, because traditional surveillance only watches what happens, it cannot stop it, and in most cases, images captured cannot be used in court due to poor resolution or the chance the evidence can be tampered with.  Therefore, the so-called evidence cannot be used.

A Successful Proactive Park Vandalism Program will include  Park Vandalism Crime Deterrent Systems which are not customary or traditional in any way, because they are designed specifically to stop park vandalism before it occurs.  The Park Vandalism Crime Deterrent Systems are also designed to be installed in remote areas without the requirement of internet or an outside power source like electricity.
