Environmental Waste

Safeguard the Environment-Stop Illegal Dumping

As much as depends on us, we need to safeguard our environment and stop illegal dumping.

Global plastic waste is a serious contributor to the environmental waste problem.  This pollution issue extends to our soil, water, and the air we breathe.  The chemicals from plastics degrade into the environment, enter our food, and settle in our bodies.

In 2021, it is estimated that the US created 40 million tons of plastic waste.

How much do you think ends up in illegal dump sites, degrading in rural remote areas and polluting our precious eco systems and waterways?

According to Condor Ferries, more than 1 million seabirds and 100,000 marine animals die from plastic pollution every year.  This is very sad.

Municipalities have a duty to stop illegal dumping that harms the community.  Cleaning up unlawful dump sites is daunting and never ending.  Therefore, each municipality must create an Illegal Dumping Enforcement Program.  A successful Illegal Dumping Enforcement Program must have the resources to respond, investigate, enforce, and prosecute.

  • Make sure your program is educating the community about the cost and the dangers of illegal dumping.
  • Provide Hotlines for witnesses to report incidents.
  • Update the laws to include stiff fines for the environmental crime of illegal dumping.
  • Equip your team with Illegal Dumping Cameras, specifically designed to capture high resolution evidence that has a history of images that are successful in prosecution of illegal dumping.

Let us do everything we can to safeguard the environment and stop illegal dumping.
