Cincinnati, OH Police Department Vandalism, Thefts, and Drug Deals thwarted

The City of Cincinnati, OH has twenty solar-powered digital FlashCAMs deployed by the police department at various trouble spot locations around the city. Sgt. Steve Saunders, Cincinnati Police Dept. said, “One trouble spot is a car dealership that was repeatedly the victim of theft and vandalism. Tires and radios were being stolen from cars on the lot and vandals were taking a knife to rag tops.” Sgt. Saunders decided to place a FlashCAM overlooking a large area of the lot. Problem solved! After a month in service the car dealer reports that no thefts or vandalism have occurred. The business owner’s son praised the police department, saying, “We just cannot thank you enough. You’re doing a great job! So how much longer can you leave the FlashCAM here?”

Sgt. Saunders is also using FlashCAM's to disrupt the economy of drug trafficking areas. “The cameras take pictures of not only the drug sellers, but also the buyers.” These are just two examples of how a Police Dept. can use FlashCAMs to solve problems and truly “protect and serve” members of its community.
