Vandalism is the defacement or destruction of a structure or other property. Usually vandalism takes place at nightfall, during after hours when personnel is no longer at the location. Vandalism costs cities, schools, parks, business owners and individuals millions of dollars each year to clean up, repair the wreckage, and replace equipment. Parks and recreation facilities, skateboard parks, cemeteries, and golf courses are favorite targets for vandals. Most vandals are school-aged kids.

OUR SOLUTION
Imagine this scenario: it’s midnight and a couple of vandals are trespassing on private property with theft and/or vandalism their intent. A bright light flashes, and a voice booms out:

“Stop! It is illegal to vandalize this area. We have just taken your photograph and we’ll use this photo to prosecute you. Leave now!”

Typically, no vandalism will take place and the perpetrators will not return anytime soon.

The photos above are actual photos taken at a construction site showing vandals coming and promptly leaving thanks to FlashCAM!

Plan ahead to combat and prevent vandalism using FlashCAM systems as the first line of defense. Keep in mind that FlashCAM takes high resolution photos in complete darkness up to 100 feet away. This will ensure that no matter what time of day or night it is, faces and license plate numbers will be visible in the event that you want to catch and prosecute the vandal. In the future, some communities may utilize the photos and develop a program for presentations at middle schools and high schools about the costs and consequences of vandalism.

Keep track of locations that are consistently vandalized; then install FlashCAM deterrent systems at those locations. Set up the system to take 3-4 photos per event. An event occurs every time the system is triggered by motion. Use the high-resolution photos to identify vandals and pursue prosecution if desired. Once vandalism has stopped, utilize the Quick Move Adaptors and move the system to the next trouble spot while placing a dummy camera at the same site to give the impression that the area is still under surveillance. You won't be alone in this process because our representatives will evaluate your trouble areas and help you with tactics to get better results from your purchase. Use the FlashCAM as a “force multiplier” to cut labor costs and replace over-worked personnel. In park locations, some customers leave the FlashCAM on 24-hours a day with a benign message such as:

Welcome to (city name) parks! We have just taken your photograph for security purposes. Enjoy the park and have a nice day!”

Good citizens will appreciate the city’s efforts to keep the parks clean and safe while potential vandals will be put on notice that vandalism will not be tolerated.
Other customers set the system to run after-hours when the park or cemetery is closed. FlashCAM is watching, so personnel doesn't have to.
