The National Equipment Register estimates that theft costs countless companies between $300 million and $1 billion a year nationwide due to equipment theft. Tools, batteries, construction materials, and the latest craze—copper—are favorite targets of places such as construction sites, athletic fields, and public utilities sites. As little as 10-15% of this stolen equipment is ever recovered. Blatant vandalism is also an expensive problem at these sites, such as broken windshields, plus damage or defacement of equipment.
OUR SOLUTION
Solar-powered FlashCAM systems provide a first line of defense to safeguard these sites. Each FlashCAM protects a wide area—up to 100 feet, daytime or nighttime. Stop theft and vandalism before it occurs, saving the expense of equipment replacement, downtime of personnel, and dealing with the aftermath of any destructive act.
Use FlashCAM systems to safeguard your problem sites while saving the expense of hiring private security personnel or installing hard-wired video systems. The FlashCAM emits a bright flash (after dark) and issues a voice warning that typically stops thefts and vandalism. A sample voice warning is:
“Stop! This is private property and you are trespassing. We have just taken your photograph and we’ll use this photograph to prosecute you. Leave the area now!”
An officer checks out the same construction site that FlashCAM had caught the thieves the night before. No damage done! EVen he looks caught off guard by the FlashCAM!
Determine the location of your most vulnerable assets and materials at each site. Develop a camera location strategy for most effective site coverage. Decide on hours of camera operation and what settings you would like the camera to operate on. This will depend on whether you want to stop/deter the thief/vandal or if you want to catch and potentially prosecute the thief/vandal. Your representative will help you determine the best camera settings and locations for your FlashCAM so you are able to benefit most from your investment.
Install FlashCAM systems at these predetermined locations. This may include entry points to the sites. One possibility may be to install the camera systems during regular business hours when the most personnel and sub-contractors are moving around the site. However, if most of the problems are occuring at night then set the camera for after hours. No matter what, FlashCAM will be watching for you whether it's day, night, or both! It is important to include the word “trespassing” in the voice message. Move the FlashCAM units to different locations at a site as needed or take it with you to future sites. This is very easy to do with the Quick Move Adapters!
